Levelling Process: Comfort and Ability Assessments

 

Instructor expectations for lesson group

  • Guests will be able to ski at a similar pace, on the same terrain.   

  • Guests have been generally leveled, but verification must be completed. 

Guest Expectations at post

  • To be placed in the best group for their ability and goals 

  • Instructor is engaged with the group organizing process, & is engaged with each member of the group. 

Expectations of Instructors at post:

  • Will be at post as soon as assigned, focused on guests. 

  • Engage each guest in conversations that verify they are in the best group for their abilities and goals. 

  • Continue to engage with the group as it grows. 

  • Connect with instructors at posts above and below you (and others at your post if more than one) before leaving the meeting area. 

  • Upon Departure for your Warm Up Lap Check your Roster

  • Warm Up Lap is Non-Teaching and is Visual Verification of Similar Speed, Terrain, & Ability Goals

  • How long have you been skiing? 

  • How often do you ski? 

  • When did you last do it (a trip, or a day)? 

  • Where did you do it? 

  • What kind of runs do you like the best? 

  • What kinds of snow do you enjoy skiing on? 

  • What do you want to do today? 

  • Can you stop? 

  • Have you ridden a chairlift? 

  • Do feel like you’re in the front seat driving, or sitting in the back seat taking a ride?
