Welcome to the 2024 Christmas Eve Torch Light

The Ski & Snowboard School puts on this annual event every Christmas Eve and this year we are celebrating our 60th Anniversary.  If you would like to participate there are a few things you need to know and agree to abide by. We have limited spots open and it is filled on a first come basis.  If you do sign up and then cannot participate, please let us know so we can open another spot and let someone else join in. This is held at the Mountain Village ONLY! Ski and Snowboard School staff only.

• This is a paid event.  You will punch in when you check in before loading the chair lift and punch out when you extinguish your flares.

• A slice of Pizza will be provided on the 3rd floor of Legacy Lodge for participants – get your flares first from the locker room before 

• Helmets are mandatory

• Eye wear of some sort is mandatory (goggles or glasses)

• NO part of the uniform is allowed except the hat

• NO Alcohol is allowed – This is a paid event

• You must provide your own poles if you are a skier to tape the flares on

• Snowboarders will be provided a bamboo stick for their flares

• You need to be in the MV SSBS Locker room between 4:30 and 5pm to tape up the flares.  These will not be provided outside of the locker room.

• You need to be prepared to load the Payday lift by 5:20 – Last chair up will leave @5:40

• You must remove your flares at the conclusion into the metal cans provided at the bottom of the run. NO flares can be brought back to the locker room.
